Ophelia

This is the first painting in my “Isolation Series”. I was moved to start this series, as many artists have, because of the lockdown and all my emotions around it. I am an American who lives and works in India. I am far away from my family. Being so far away from my family I turned to my art as my creative outlet to start a series that expresses how I feel. Covid-19 has brought out a lot of fears, feelings of uncertainty, and stress for everyone around the world. The painting tries to express the feeling of not knowing how or when an unknown danger will go away. The flowers in my paintings symbolize new life, rebirth, and a new beginning which struggling to take root amidst crisis.
