Fear

Something that you cannot tell people because of stigma. Fear. Something that is so isolating. Fear. That if I do this or that. Fear. Fear of the unknown. Fear of the uncertainty. Fear of one’s own self. Fear of the monotony. Fear of what if this is it. Fear of never getting to see family again. Fear of never getting to see friends again. Fear of being taken away from your own child. This is something that is so consuming because of not knowing. The colour black associates with fear and the unknown. Kintsugi is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery by putting it back together with gold. The idea of taking something you would normally disregard or throw away and making it something beautiful again. After fear can tear us to pieces, we can be mended back together again for a new beginning.
